every site owner already knows major details about you. if you signed up with your primary email, it likely contains your real name and key details such as work contacts. if it's not your primary email it doesn't matter anyway because they can find what IP the email was created from and line it up with your account's IP — VPNs do nothing but add an extra step in between finding your actual IP, and your precise location. in the case of 2FA they know your cell number and can easily grab further details such as your cell model, just as they can do with your computer hardware. why do you think they don't ask for things like ID when you sign up? they don't need it. they already have everything they need to know. as such concepts like doxing already don't really exist, because you've already self-doxed by choosing to sign up to the forum, essentially releasing your information unlisted; it's just up to someone else to make that info public. the site owners don't need to care about this because every other site functions the same way that they do, so suing them would be useless. and this is what's been normalized.

so to continue on with the normalization of publicizing information, when it comes to forums and the like, when do you believe the band-aid will be ripped off and the false sense of anonymity be done away with? the question is not if, it's when. it's only a matter of time until forums require that all posts be video only to pass checks such as that multiple people are not using your account, and to make age verification that bit easier. so how soon do you believe sites will begin to do this?
