Why do people hate Fortnite so much?

Why do people, mainly adults, hate that game so much? I'm 27 and I don't get why many people round my age or older than me hate it. My friends play it but every here and there i see people complaining about it being a kids game and being cringe or idk.

I played once on my Switch but i found it pretty hard to play with the joycons and in it's screen, maybe i should give it a try on PC

It's a good game although I rarely play it. I remember winning a game by hiding in a fake bush and headshot sniped the last person.

Maybe they don't like it but get sick of it seeing everywhere as it's a mainstream game.

If a video game is entertainment and distraction for kids. Then shouldn't that be a good thing and prevents them from annoying you? That is, unless you still want attention from them?

Then there's the Fortnite dancing. Yet that's actual dance moves taken into the game. So kids trying them, might not be good at first and appear cringe, but are actually developing a real talent that they could later apply to actual dancing, such as hop hip, break dancing, etc.

You shouldn't really be cringing at that, but rather trying to get them interested in developing it more. Of course, learning something new is going to be cringe at first, it's not till hours of practice that you can become good at all.

So I would consider those cringing at it just gave up and never tried themselves.

This made me remember the Blink-182 video "Darkside" with kids dancing/flossing and a lot of people mad in the comments just because the kids dancing the fortnite dance lmao

Because it reminds them of how old they've become, it's THE thing and they're not in it, a constant reminder that their time is over. Old thing good, new thing bad. It happens to everyone.

Typically anything mainstream is garbage as it becomes a cash cow rather than for passion. Examples would be modern music as it's talentless and YouTube videos who won't shut up about sponsors, clickbait titles/images or including unnecessary filler content rather than getting straight to the point.

If you want money then put sponsors at the end of the video, just don't ruin the content.

I've never played, but have seen it played.

I don't "hate" it, since I have no right to hate it.

However, it's full of "bad community." And, it is now an absurd cash-cow cash-fest. It was already making billions of monies and then they just started filling it with loads and loads of skin-garbage to capitalize on that. I actively dislike, very strongly, any developer that would foist that stuff off on kids for cash... That is something I do "hate."

People who really like it? Most of those have a group of friends they enjoy playing with. Good for them. (Unless they're the "bad community" people...)

For me? Nope... I don't see any reason why it'd be worth my time. It's a shooter with some twists. Meh, I have shooters at home...

Right now I'm playing a knockoff version of it... having fun is all I care about not what other people think.

also that "save the world" shenanigan and the cutscenes' appeal isnt targeted to adults

It's not necessarily the game itself that people hate, rather it's hatred towards the developer Epic Games.

If you're out of the loop, basically Fortnite's success has made Epic want to greatly expand their company to be in line with giants like Apple and Microsoft. Unfortunately this has resulted in them being aggressive and making moves that hurt consumers and competition. This includes making exclusivity deals, buying out a lot of media development tools, and wanting their own "internet" that they can govern.

Fortnite appears to be Epic's main cash flow (Not UE as revealed in a lawsuit), so it makes sense that people would want to see this game collapse as it would greatly hinder Epic's goals.

It's silly right?

Every single Fortnite dance is one taken from a real dance move. Some are actually useful to combine into actual real dancing.

As for that floss dance move, Backpack kid originally made it popular, which originally came from JStuStudios.
