Why do people hate Fortnite so much?

Why do people, mainly adults, hate that game so much? I'm 27 and I don't get why many people round my age or older than me hate it. My friends play it but every here and there i see people complaining about it being a kids game and being cringe or idk.

I played once on my Switch but i found it pretty hard to play with the joycons and in it's screen, maybe i should give it a try on PC

I hated it for the building, it was annoying to shoot someone just for them to construct the Eiffel tower in seconds. Now that there's a no building mode it's alright.

Because it was popular and some people don't like popular things, or they pretend to feel superior. Just wait few years when another game will turn super popular and people will jump into hate-train of that one. That's just the way life works.

I don't hate it, but beating 12 year olds and bots isn't really satisfying.

I also really dislike it when any game adds bots to online matches.

Because adults might try it once and get owned by kids playing it all the time. This enrages them into rage quitting and then justifying their action by calling it cringe.

It's like an older brother and younger brother relationship. The younger bro goes off into his room and out of the way. The older brother actually has to go out of his way into that room, then steps on the younger bros lego on the floor. Then scream, yells and cries about it and how their younger bro is so annoying.

If a video game is entertainment and distraction for kids. Then shouldn't that be a good thing and prevents them from annoying you? That is, unless you still want attention from them?

Then there's the Fortnite dancing. Yet that's actual dance moves taken into the game. So kids trying them, might not be good at first and appear cringe, but are actually developing a real talent that they could later apply to actual dancing, such as hop hip, break dancing, etc.

Freestyle dance with a Fortnite theme! All the moves are called out. I know I didn't do all of them but tried to get as many as possible in a minute (or so). Any I should do next time?

You shouldn't really be cringing at that, but rather trying to get them interested in developing it more. Of course, learning something new is going to be cringe at first, it's not till hours of practice that you can become good at all.

So I would consider those cringing at it just gave up and never tried themselves.

The game is not my cup of coffee. Also EPIC Games as a corporation is cringe, also all the MTX's they got in that game, is getting close to EA corporation lvl of shenanigans.

Personally I'm just not Interested in battle royale , if save the world was a stand alone game that you could install without the battle royale thing now I might be interested.

It's a very shallow, bloated game. What once felt like a simple battle royale, now feels like a glorified mobile with 1000 new additions, but none of them fully realised.

Only a child could enjoy that visual and thematic nightmare.

It's not necessarily the game itself that people hate, rather it's hatred towards the developer Epic Games.

If you're out of the loop, basically Fortnite's success has made Epic want to greatly expand their company to be in line with giants like Apple and Microsoft. Unfortunately this has resulted in them being aggressive and making moves that hurt consumers and competition. This includes making exclusivity deals, buying out a lot of media development tools, and wanting their own "internet" that they can govern.

Fortnite appears to be Epic's main cash flow (Not UE as revealed in a lawsuit), so it makes sense that people would want to see this game collapse as it would greatly hinder Epic's goals.

seriously , I was interested in the game before it's started being known as a battle royale ... now I just feel like , no ... it's just another PVP game I don't wanna play.

I've never played the game but seen its effects on a relative of mine.
Fortnite is the videogame equivalent of a pedo pretending to be child online.
With its artstyle and upbeat marketing, it tricks children and parents alike into perceiving it as a kid's game, but underneath the blanket is a competitive and addictive shooter with gambling mechanics.
One of my relatives was such a wholesome videogame enjoyer until the parents made the uninformed decision of letting the kid play it disregarding the age rating. Now said relative is a silly screamer addicted to Fortnite.
The only good thing about this is that I can learn from their mistakes.

Don't hate it personally. It just isn't my thing.

Was never a fan of the battle royale sub-genre. Not gonna' give people flak for liking it as I have far better things to be concerned with than what people think of a darn video game.

And some people just want validation on things they like.

the building mad me so mad, it was like watching a bunch of robots spam and then I die in two seconds, it wasnt fun with it, but I've heard it's been removed so maybe its better now
