Just ignore the spider (unless venom or huge spider that give you an extraodinary discomfort), they are friends, helps a lot to mantain house clean and secure by killing mosquitoes and other dangerous plagues... the spider probably is much more scared than you about your presence, as a general rule spiders will never approach humans, they are not interested on them.

Besides I like spiders, they're pretty cute imo, plus they kill other annoying insects

I used to check under my bed for spiders every night before i went to bed. I only stopped doing it when i was about 35.

Last year i woke up, and there was a huge spider on my hand right next to my face. Scared the living snot out of me! Spiders are way scarier than nuclear armageddon. Not even close.
