Girls on profile pictures
Why so many people here put girls or women on their profile pics?

Is it because most of them are 20-30 years old virgins or what?

Is there any plausible explanation for this phenomenon?

I sometimes put my real face (female here) as avatar. But it is never a good idea. Attracts the weirdos. So I prefer using other images.

I agree, if it looks professional, + the "artworks" section is also full of selfies, the person is definitely fake.
I know right! I've seen a lot of profiles with artwork as pictures of the girl, most if the time 'sexy' pictures. And you find people commenting about how hot she is, I facepalm so hard.
Still people are confused about genders even after my enlightenment topic.

Its weird how people in steam put full bios of their name, address, age and etc in their info box in steam.
BOOOOO
....tramps...well a good percent like....7 uhhh.... 72% chance of a tramp with a open picture
Why not. I got crap for having anime and using mic was called ugly and fat. I got crap for having just a logo and using mic. Got crap for using a hot picture of me got called fake. Got crap for using a joke photo of myself.

No matter what profile avatar I use im going to get crap for it when i get in a mic. Now days i just put up a decent photo and most guys write me off as another guy and no exchange is made until i use a mic which is what i prefer now days.

OBVIOUSLY though you think no females play video games or are ob steam forums which is the more common place to find them actually my question is who catfished you to be this way lol

Your right.. but that could be due to the fact that ppl are jerks on the internet especially when they can stay hidden and avoid real consequences, that doesn't happen to girl only

There is definitely truth to the free stuff part. It's not a majority, but it happens.

One guy alone gifted me around 20 games. Not cheap stuff either. I wouldn't flirt back and I kept telling him I wasn't interested so he eventually just unfriended me. I felt so terrible.

That's one of the reasons I stopped using pictures. It just makes you feel so guilty and awkward. I can't imagine doing it on purpose.

Back when I was super into social media for gaming, I was really close to a bunch of females in the community. One of my more popular friends was gifted a high end gaming PC. Like worth $5,000. Another was recently gifted a Switch and games for it. And I raised over $3,500 for my dog's emergency surgery with my account, thanks to the gamers following me (which I will always be so thankful for).

I'm still on social media, but I deleted my old accounts and just created small, private ones for the girls I met previously. That's how I know it's still happening.

But all that just goes to show how crazy some of this stuff is.
this is prob bait

Happened to me, too. Though I usually gift them a couple of games back so I wouldn't feel that bad any longer.
