Girls on profile pictures

Why so many people here put girls or women on their profile pics?

Is it because most of them are 20-30 years old virgins or what?

Is there any plausible explanation for this phenomenon?

If photo is too professionally made, most likely it's fake. Not many people gonna hire professional photograph to make photo for Steam.

Heaven forbid they actually have a picture that they have had made that they decide to use on Steam at a later date!

Not to mention, there's tons of phone apps that can mimic Photoshop these days. My sister can easily take a selfie and edit it to something resembling studio-quality.

Most of them are 300lb+ men with arthritis, looking to score free games from desperate teenagers, (the sad thing is I've actually seen it happen).

When the next AAA is released on Steam, just check the forums, you'll see them everywhere.

You talk like females don't exist on the internet or as if they're extinct or something lol (there's more females than males in the world) 😂 girls like posting hot guys photos and vice versa.

Why do I use my own character as an avatar? I use it to express my music loving, no nonsense side.

There are people who use anime avatars, either just because, or due to them being obsessed with anime too much. And there are those who show female faces, because they are female. Although there may be catfishers, but I never experienced them myself.

Simple. Females do exist, and some like to use selfies. Just like some males use selfies. To assume every person who uses a female avatar is a guy is just stupid, because you're obviously ignoring the statistics on the sheer number of women on the internet. It's a pretty significant number.

I'm not talking about the people that make the "there are no women on the internet" jokes. I'm talking about the people who genuinely seem to believe that all real women would never use selfies.

Sure, you might run across the occasional catfish, but I'd venture to say that most are actually women. If you doubt it so much, you can ask her to speak, but remember that no one owes you any proof (unless maybe you're one of the people who seem to think it's a good idea to send these women games).
