I think that game is still popular but not the trend anymore (correct me if wrong on that)
Back when it used to be the trend i remember the game was broken and buggy and I didnt have mobile data back then making it pointless to play so I obviously didnt like the game...

I wonder if the game rly changed from what it was before....

I used to play that game more often before than nowadays

Yeah there was a pretty big uproar in certain places when Pokemon first got big, too.

It was partly the 90's "video games are evil" thing but Pokemon got it particularly hard. There were some allegations that it was demon worship, which I have no idea where that came from, and then the exceedingly poor choice of the term "evolve" to describe the change in a Pokemon's appearance and abilities.

That was bad diction for a lot of reasons. Evolving isn't even the kind of thing that one individual does in its lifetime.
