Well supposing they do, it's probably more just how Hollywood thinks actors age vs actresses.
Being a woman in Hollywood is like being a man in anime--if you're over, like, 25, you're treated like freaking King Tut.
But hollywood doesn't like older women, like Devsman has said..
In europe, it's a different story tho.
Nor do they value men. Different people have different value to society at different points in their lives. That's just the way life is.
The military won't care much about a man who can't fight. A man looking for a wife to have kids with won't put a lot of value on a woman who is past being able to rear kids.
Life sucks in a lot of ways. You can't fix everything.
So of course the roles go to younger attractive women who the producers want to sleep with, while the older women either lose their looks (therefore their demand to want to have sex with) or they mature and realize they don't want to be prostitutes.
Hell even Ashley Judd who came out against Weinstein told her story about him and basically she bargained with Weinstein demanding an Oscar if she sleeps with him, proving that 1. It was a financial transaction and she prostituted herself and 2. Oscars has nothing to do with talent.
Everyone in Hollywood knew about what Weinstein was doing, but instead of doing anything they just ignored it - or in the case of Ron Perlman, pissed on himself, that really showed Weinstein.
And what people don't want to admit is that Weinstein is just a drop in the bucket. There are far more of those predators out there, Weinstein was just sacrificed so the rest of them can continue to do it while pretending they ended it.
Apart from what is going on behind the scenes, i recall some old movies with young men pairing old actresses.
I would say this goes for any other entertainment industry, not just Hollywood.
Also, Hollywood produces pr0n - they don't advertise it but they do produce it.
Why do the OP post a question that isn't very clear and then never return to explain themselves?
?
How is the question unclear?
Seems everyone here is answering the question without complaint to me. You don't have to answer any question that doesn't make sense to you lol.
