1. Everyone has their own experiences as a kid. (Example: Some kids can grow up with 80's and 90's stuff, even if they were never born in those eras. It is just a form of generalization.
       
2. You can look "retro" all you want, but it won't bring back the things that make it work in of itself. People like past media not just because it is "nostalgic" or "retro" , it is because people find things that they genuinely like. For example, I like some stuff from the 90's (ska, arcade games, FPS games, etc.), and I was never even born in that era! I also think false retro visuals are a bit overdone...
       
3. I don't like the born in the wrong generation stuff because it can be depressing if taken too far, and it is good to look forward to things in life!

i prefer to call it "neo-retro" because in the current age, i don't think people really want to mimic old stuff to the fullest. people now use it as a style even if they try to convince you by saying that "it's nostalgia" and all of that. if i were a developer, the most valid reason why i choose pixel art even if i don't want to is constraint on budget. nothing beyond that. but like any art movement out there, it is a style and if you don't want to, don't go into it.

plus, i don't know why but current pixel art on games looks ugly compared to old games...

to think about it, i've played oblivion some times ago and this makes me thinking. are there other games with stat based system with perks on top? not the other way around like new vegas. it would be goofy if a shield skill of 100 allows you to create literal sonic boom. why isn't this a thing? it sounds fun.

i prefer stat based system anyway... maybe because of brevity over gimmicks.

It isn't--or at least shouldn't be--possible to miss the point of Scarface so badly that your takeaway is that it glorifies crime. You would straight up have to get up and go to the restroom whenever his mom is on screen and leave the theater completely somewhere in act 2.
