Getting doxxed on discord

Hello everyone, so unfortuantally im getting doxed by one of my irl "best friend" and now hes LITERALLY EXPOSING MY INFORMATION, my name, my real face as his pfp, location of my school, and more ♥♥♥♥. Im actually beyond pissed off at him right now and you may wonder why he might do this, ITS LITERALLY BECAUSE I MADE A ♥♥♥♥♥ JOKE ABOUT SENDING AN EMAIL TO HIS TEACHER ABT HIM PLAGIARIZING (And keep in mind, he actually cheated on his assingments but I didn't send anything to his teacher) I feel like I really should expose him to the staff at my school but I'm convinced he said he would shoot up the school and kill him self (probably not serious but he literally said he would've shot up the school). My life is getting threatened because of this and I don't know what to do.

BTW I did report it to discord already but its really ♥♥♥♥♥♥

if you have proof that he said that about the school report it right away as the school and police take that seriously. Report them.

I should've clipped him saying that but even then can you even report it?

I mean, it's against the rules of most sites and services. Seems like common sense and/or common knowledge.

That's because most people think they're going to wind up with someone showing up to their house and assaulting them if they get doxed. No, in most cases you'll probably just wind up with some prank calls or someone ordering a hundred pizzas to your place. Unless you're someone who needs to be doxed, in which case you probably did something that would be actionable by law enforcement. Happens all the time to people who hurt kids and pets then brag about it online like that's somehow something to brag about.

Doxing technically isn't illegal, because most of the time it's information gathered from the public record to begin with. To criminalize doxing would in turn mean phone books, public records, criminal databases and the like would have to be made similarly illegal. Now, threatening to shoot up a school, okay that might actually get you in trouble.

Yeah, I'd say report it to 5-0, then the school. 5-0 because they're the ones who might actually be able to do something about it, the school because they're the ones who are going to have to deal with the misbegotten Columbine kid regardless.

Report it it's nothing to joke about. How would you feel if he did it and killed some students knowing you could of prevented it by telling.

Well, then go tell them again that it was a joke. If they don't understand it the first time, they may understand it the second time.

Regardless. Nobody uses Discord anyway, because you can't do anything with it. It does not even have games, afaik. You may just as well uninstall that, it is not needed. It's like those crappy internet browser toolbars that you do not need.
