Basically this: if you don't want to pay... don't pay... if you don't want to play.... don't play.
This is just another whiny attempt to bash on DLC's because people want everything now and free. The whole OMG "microtransactions" are "evil" because it costs money... yes, and? so what.
Some people like playing games like this... if it's not for you, go play something else and stop being a pain complaining about it.
P.s.- "microtransactions" and "microagressions" are two words that need to go away in 2021... overused, misused, and meaningless.
I am pretty close to it with in game advertising. Not like product placement. That really doesn't bother me much because if it is done right, it adds to immersion.
I am talking about that SOB in Dragon Age that wants you to gladly go on a new adventure to a far away land, all for the low cost of 20$, and he takes Mastercard and Visa to pay for your boat ticket.
And you could buy it day one... Nope. I hate it worse
Perhaps, consider not feigning ignorance to one's criticisms on a certain matter. It doesn't bode well for you, and only makes you out to portray yourself as the fool.
You bought the disc. You have it, you can put it in your drive and copy all the files off it. You can do whatever you want with those files; manipulate them to your heart’s content. You do have access to everything that’s on it. Go for your life.
If you want someone to come along and transform the files on your disc into other files that form an addon to a game though, well, that’s a service, and people are entitled to charge for their services.
I understand why full PvE hasn't been implemented, that doesn't make Rare's choice on the matter okay. If anything, their choice on this matter is why the game has been on life support as far as active player counts go, here on PC.
I say all of this as somebody that's played SoT since day 1 of closed alpha... Truly, it could be better than where it is currently.
Monster Hunter World is a good example of it being done well. The older ones too.
I can't really think of other games that do it extremely well.
