New halo is well received.
Phyconauts 2 is phenomenal.
About to have the entire Diablo series.
Phantasy Star with Sega.
Gears of War is still very popular based on Gears 5 sales.
Game Pass exclusive selling the Xbox basically.
Elder Scrolls confirmed to no longer release mainline titles on Playstation.
That's just the tip of the iceberg btw. Opinions are nice, but they aren't facts. Don't treat them like they are.
I'm not worried about being intrusive...it's where my game library is on PC and don't need more launchers and games purchased elsewhere.
See that's an argument I can get behind. In a sense that is where PC lacks compared to consoles. I have like seven launchers on my PC.
Oh I have them all
Xbox Series S, PS5, Switch and a PC. I can get any game I want, but that doesn't mean I want certain gaming companies to fail. The more competition the better stuff the consumers get.
But not Xbox AND PC which is why Microsoft will eventually come out on top because they are more than doubling their Market Share by catering to both the Xbox and PC at the same time
There is NO MONEY in console hardware anymore, the money is in selling Games and Services and the PC Gaming Market share is larger than the PS4/PS5 market share and almost as big as PS and Xbox put together ..... The Pandemic changed the market because so many people needed a PC for work and remote schooling so the only real extra cost to get into PC gaming is the cost of the graphics card as most people already have the rest. AMD and Nvidia sold 12.7 million graphics cards last year and probably could have sold twice that many if it weren't for chip shortages and ridiculously high Scalper prices. The point is the PC Gaming Market expanded by leaps and bounds in 2020 and 2021 and once the chip shortages are no longer a problem that growth will accelerate even faster and Sony is missing out because of an archaic Business Model
Sony is leaving billions of dollars on the table for Microsoft and others to snatch up .... It's not 2016 anymore and the Exclusives Business Model is no longer viable to growing Market Share. The most viable way to grow Market Share is catering to the PC Market as well as the Console Market ......
Originally on the God of War forums.
Apple would be cool. Back to the Apple vs MS days.
Either one of them are big enough to buy and sell Sony all day long.
Look at the prices for PS5 games, they are absurd. Very few pc-gamers would ever pay that:
- Returnal $70
- Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut $70 ... for a ported PS4 game
- Demon's Souls $70 ... for a remaster
.... their standard price is $70 USD for a game.
However ... and this is a big one:
the prices outside of the US, like in the EU, is not $70 but $92 for a PS5 game ... $92 !
Sony is not going to sell that many games outside of Japan and the US with these prices.
It's inaccurate to compare Xbox with Sony since Sony does more than just Playstations, they do movies, cameras, headphones etc. An accurate comparison is therefore Microsoft vs Sony, not Xbox vs Sony.
Therefore:
Nintendo's net worth as of January 21, 2022 is $62.24 Billion
Sony's net worth as of January 21, 2022 is $138.65 Billion.
Microsoft's net worth as of January 21, 2022 is $2264.41 Billion !

Sure enough, the Xbox might have to catch up with the Playstation, I can agree with that.
However, Microsoft as a company is a trillion miles ahead of Sony, quite literally.
