Recent reports show PS 5 at 15 million and Series S/X at 10 million. This deal will likely put Xbox ahead by October.
Oh for sure, but remember who owns Xbox. Microsoft has far more money than Sony and can throw away a lot of it. I would say it's more Microsoft core finances paying for these companies and deals on game pass than the revenue from game pass itself.
I bet many will drop gamepass as the pricing continues to rise and not all the games they want to play are on it. Seems like MS would just be better off going for Series S/X sales since digital game sales are so profitable. Sony has almost double the gaming revenue because PS 4 sold about twice as well as the Xbox One.
PS 3 launched a year later and at a much higher price.
We haven't seen the affects of this and the Bethesda acquisition yet. Wait until E3 when Starfield has more trailers.
MS and Sony have worked together before (MSX) and still work together on many fronts (Sony uses Azure for example, Windows on their laptops) so why not share the pie. Call it the XStation for gen 10.
The hardware is practically the same in these consoles nowadays anyway. What's the point in having separate ones.
we don't know what sony has planned
Price rising? I haven't paid extra for my game pass since it came out. That's downright fearmongering.
They tried once and immediately took ot back because of massive backlash. They learned their lesson on not rising it. Let's not spread misinformation on this shall we? People aren't dropping it and it's now at 25 million subscribers with a steady increase every month.
Edit: in case you mean that 1$ deal it was meant only for the first month. It's always been an extra 10$ since I first subscribed to it past the first month.
Well Sony doesnt have the money Microsoft has. If Sony buys one then Microsoft buys ten. Can't compete in that area.
And with a severe lack of games. Ps3 hardware was super bad to the point of melting its own chips. Can't blame a year difference for the xbox360 besting ps3 for most of that generation. As I said before it was when xbox started stagnating on games towards the end that gave ps3 the upper hand as they kept releasing new games.
