Conslows etc. needs its exclusive content for disconnect monopoly purpose if not for anything else and brand/platform recognition and one utopia gaming world would never... ever... work!
Sony literally lost 20 billion from the recent purchase. Xbox game pass has over 25 million subscribers confirmed. I think the last report is that Microsoft made 300m a month from game pass alone.
Can't call Xbox irrelevant. See more interested in Microsoft and Nintendo rather than Sony. Unlike Sony the other two are actually releasing games.

MS buying some IP's doesn't make them dominate the market. it's like comparing AMD with Intel...there are worlds between their market share. all MS wants is more range and user accounts/data for their future plans with cloud gaming and game pass. with the ongoing cost for PC gaming hardware the consoles sill going strong and there is really no reason for Sony to break a sweat at this point. they still own the best first party studios in the industry and MS just bought some trash but popular trash of course. CoD always sells, no matter what right?
Is that why Sony is removing their PSnow cards from the store and revamping their services? You don't react in that way if you didnt feel the pressure of competition.

2021 they lost the revenue battle with Xbox. You can't call yourself top when you make less than your competitors.
And we will then get inundated w/ topics about how Sony is charging full price for games that are several years old.
PC market counts as Microsoft gaming revenue. You do know that right?
Windows? Who do you think makes that?
PC/Xbox are the same and now cross-play all their games. Ignoring that is just ignorant. Likely why the game pass has so many subscribers now. Ps5 can't compete in those numbers.
Yes and who creates the windows program for your PC? Give you a hint it starts with M and ends with F. Game Pass is also on PC and those games on PC game pass can be played with Xbox game pass players.
Why I said Sony better start putting ALL their games on PC now. Don't keep up with the times you get pushed put. How Sega got kicked out of the console market in 2000.
And Xbox. WoW will no longer require their sub fee if you have game pass subscription.
Apparently, not for Sony's old titles, though, because JPI ported GoW and someone else is working on the continued support for HZD, and Days Gone is just abandoned.
Nixxes are more than likely porting Sony's new titles, and that is scary enough - e.g. Square Enix Avengers, DX: Mankind Divided, anyone?! 😒
If I'm reading this right, the two sources you linked are comparing Microsoft vs PlayStation, not Xbox vs PlayStation. Xbox made 13.3 billion vs PlayStation with 25billion according to those two sources you linked.
edit: I'm talking about PlayStation/Sony gaming division vs Microsoft gaming division which includes Xbox, PC, Game Pass and xCloud.
In terms of revenue, PlayStation generates more revenue. Microsoft even confirms this by saying with the ActivisionBlizzard acquisition, Microsoft will jump up to third place in terms of revenue, PlayStation being second and Tencent being first.
