Just let people enjoy things. As long as it isn't harming anyone, every community is going to have its extreme cases. Something being popular doesn't automatically make it overrated, it just means you don't like it but can't express why.

BTW I was watching this video about how the band was formed, I was expecting them to be a HS boyband - turned famous. Turned out to be more of a cut-throat recruitment scheme to get a spot in it. Kinda weird how commercialized music has become.

Ah like an American Idol type thing, lacking soul.

Eh, I wouldn't say so. There's a lot of cohesion b/w them, and they are very talented too. No doubt about that. Just the way these bands are commercially designed and "sold" to the public is a bit weird.

I don't like Kanye too much, nor do I listen to rap too much...but I think as a composer of beats he's kind of a genius.

Kpop in general is overrated. Especially the way the companies market the idols and their music. Occasionally I will listen to a BTS song but I find their dancing to be much more interesting than the music itself sometimes. I haven't felt interested in a dance video since Jabbawockeez.

The one thing I gotta hand to BTS is that they gave me some idea of what type of fashion style and look I want to achieve. And they also helped me get into skincare.
