The best Joker actor

We have seen countless actor there played the Joker in both movies, TV series and also a lot of different voice actor in the animated movies and series. But right now I am only looking on the movie actors and tried to figured out who is the really the best one.

Joaquin Phoenix Joker 2019
Nick Creegan Batwoman 2019
Jared Leto Suicide Squad 2016
Heath Ledger The Dark Knight 2008
Jack Nicholson Batman 1989
Cesar Romero Batman 1966

To be honest I am really like 50/50% on either Joaquin Phoenix or Heath Ledger. Both played the Joker perfectly. I never saw Batwoman, so I really don´t know Nick Creegan performance. Jared Leto as the Joker in Suicide Squad was a huge disappointment, but the little we saw of him in Justice League was really great. Jack Nicholson as the Joker was also pretty decent, I always like that long revolver sence. About Cesar Romero as the Joker, dont ask...

But who do you think there was the best Joker ?.

Mark Hamill, that is the kind of Joker they need to do for the Movies. Having the Joker be silly and deadly would be an amazing combination

Just like how he is in the Batman - Arkham games as well.

Also yes, the Jared Leto one was not only disappointing, but an insult to the character overall. There's a point in time where people need to say "be like the better material and less of your own 'artistic interpretation' of the character" when making a movie.

Kind of like the "costume" for Riddler in The Batman

And as an aside, Adam West's best VO role was on B:TAS as Batman's childhood hero, the Grey Ghost. I like Batman inspiring Batman. Can't remember the Villain for that EP...

It's an odd show. Very deadpan absurd humor. But I don't remember Mark in it. Haven't watched it all though...

Heath Ledger is definitely the best live action Joker we've ever had.. i found it kinda funny that actors were afraid to take the role cause Jack Nicholson did an amazing job..

without knowing Heath is going to sets the standard even higher! Joaquin did amazing but the script kinda sucked.. so I personally don't like Joaquin's Joker that much..

Jared Leto is not a bad actor, but his performance as the Joker in Suicide Squad sucks a$$. but he did alright on Snyder's Cut and nailed the "scary" Joker vibe.

But Heath is a different breed, zurely a legend!



P.S : OP referred to live action Joker, so I don't think Mark Hammil is included lol (he's amazing)

I ike the cartoony-style Batman more than the modern ones, so Jack Nicholson gets my vote.
Although both Ledger and Phoenix did very interesting versions.

Leto was like a emo-hipster version of the Joker.

Almost no one. I was amazed when I heard they renewed it for another season despite being a giant money pit of content garbage. CW needs to stop making anything based off of comics and let someone else have the property license/rights. In fact they should just close their business, they just ruin everything they touch from what I've seen.

The best ACTOR (potrayed in live action) would be a toss up between Jack Nicholson and Cesar Romero. They played Joker to perfection. Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix are a close second. Their performances were phenomenal but they were too serious.

You can't really compare actually actors with voice actors. Hamill is definitely the best to voice Joker, but I doubt he'd pull off the Joker well on screen.
