I already use an adblock, i don't need to see ads for it
And those ads are often times wrong. I just use noscript, which isn't even an adblocker directly, it just happens to block javascript, which includes ads.

I have a (perhaps petty) personal rule that if the ads on TV annoy me I vouch never to purchase from them.

It's something I have done for decades - so it's not petty to me. It's natural.

I actually hate them all and turn the sound down when they appear.
I have also never owned a branded piece of clothing that advertises a commercial product because I do nothing for free.

I wear black all the time.

personal choice but it's alpenliebe candy ad back then in the 2000s. For some reason I can't get the jingle out of my head for years, it's so annoying that whenever I was idle all I can think of is that ad jingle. Luckily I'm over it now.
