I am in top5 as well, so well.
But as I said, its nothing new that living cost are high here, including gas.
But I still feel with you, considering your location. Those prices are mean.
€2,35 for 1 Liter
Octane 100: 2,29€ pr. liter
Diesel: 2,01€ pr. liter
We try to make only fewer important trips but sometimes when you gotta be somewhere there's nothing for it.
I bet electric car owners are happy with their purchases right now.
1 liter of petrol = 2,438 euro (down from 2,502 euro)
1 liter of diesel = 2,311 euro (down from 2,375 euro)
prices dropped a little after the goverment lowered VAT on fuel from 21% to 9% last week
energy for our homes is also insane :
1 KWH = 0.69 euro
1 m3 natural gas = 2.78 euro
it is the energy for our houses that is the really bankrupting us part..
1KWH used to cost about 30 cents (halve)
1m3 used to cost about 60 cents (less than a quarter)
as a result our energy costs have quadruppled..
many households in dept because of this...
since driving a car has other costs too (obligated insurance and vehicle ownership tax are already 50-300 euro a month... as well as ofcourse the annual checkup fee.. and the eventual writeoff as it ages.. fuelcosts for cars are less an issue..
especially since for petrol and diesel.. it used to be about 1.70.. so the increase has been only +50% on a part of the cost of driving and owning a car.. not a freaking doubling or quadruppling as for our house energy costs..
->
though the increased cost of fuel does mean all goods in supermarkets also will see a 20% price increase.. and that hurts harder as households already have less to spend because of the insane energy bills..
