Snobby nerds are the absolute worst!
The I.T. guy at my work is the perfect blend of the comic book guy from the Simpson's and the fat computer nerd from Jurassic Park. Every time you have to deal with the guy he treats you like you are the dumbest person on Earth.

He's a fat nerd for crying out load! Where is the justification for being so arrogant?!?!?

One of these days I'm gona lose it on the guy and knock his teeth out!

Have you guys ever had to deal with these type of nerds?

Eh people like that would not bother me much. Now normal people they just stress me out.
Ima live and let live kinda fella... but don't make my life suck just because your life sucks
I can understand that. Sometimes I myself feel down because I was somewhat of a hero in the past and now I am a nobody once more. I can not let it go and never will.
*actually says the word nerd about OTHER people whilst being on Steam*
:KneelingBow:

Arrogance comes from either misconceptions of your own self, i.e. a lack of self-awareness, or it comes from years of cumulative irrefutable empirical evidence weighing in on how awesome you truly are.

Jurassic park guy was not just a nerd. He was a nerd who wanted power. And we can't have that. So he needed to die gruesomely.

mge me nerd
I mean, I've gladly tolerated individuals nerding out to me, even if the topic wasn't completely interesting to me.

I wonder if one's perception that this person is treating you like a dummy is accurate. I've had people inform me that I was doing the same to them - or that I was being rude - much to my honest surprise.
Arrogance in general is an unbearable trait.

Dont punch him.
Yes, I imagine everytime how I have fun with my girlfriend and he would have to watch, the source of infinite inner peace! :)
Kind of mean and painful lol.

I'll be the first one to label myself a nerd

But there is a difference between the type of nerd I am, and the type of nerd this guy is

I never showed him smartphone pictures for attacking, I just imagine when hes cruel how we eat ice cream and laugh together at the beach...while he is on the computer.
This guy does sound like me to be honest. But makes me wonder if there is as awful of a backstory as I have though or if that type of guy in this subject is just eh.

Don't get me wrong I like me some nerds

But this guy is seriously the comic book guy from the Simpson's

I have never had so much hatred for an individual as I do this guy

I have honestly never know a person with as much unjustifiable arrogance as this fat ♥♥♥♥

I always assume that the people I'm trying to help have at least a little bit of knowledge about computers. Like, the very basics. But I do try to make my instructions as easy to follow as possible in order to avoid PEBKAC problems. I don't think I come off as condescending in my instructions though, just very brusque and straight to the point. I don't like to waste people's time, and I don't like when people waste my time, so I try to minimize that as much as I can.

What really grinds my gears is when they have selective reading, only follow a part of the instructions, and then complain that the problem is not fixed.

:rad_rune:
Why do you care enough about some guy you dislike at work to make a thread about him in a video game forum :Shoji:

-IT guy
-Poor interpersonal skills

It's to be expected.

Also IT guys have to deal with people who are computer illiterate all the time, especially at companies/corporations.

If you feel like he's talking down to you, then it might be because he's assuming you wouldn't know how to do simple computer tasks otherwise.

No this guy is an entirely different level

He responds to question in a very belittling tone of voice with always some snarky comment thrown in

He cuts people off mid sentence to correct them and again always with some snarky comment

He has even been known to get up and walk out of the room while somebody is talking to him and in mid sentence

I'm developing sympathies for this guy.

He sounds awesome the way you describe him.

An anti-social super hero with unwavering beliefs of his grandiose self.

We should be taking notes.

Now I see where the comparison to the condescending nerd in Jurassic Park comes from, lol. I'm glad I've never reached his level, that man has his head so far up his rear end that he probably can never get the smell of crap out of his nose ever again.
