It has to be scripted.
Pretty sure I said pretty clearly that he was acting. So was Chris. Hence the "it being fake/staged"
If it had been real, he would have be escorted out. The Oscars have done it before. But they knew it was coming. Yeash. Will isn't that big an actor anymore, to get away with it.
This thread and countless news sites prove just how effective the stunt was.
Very well said.
I mean, it doesn't matter how famous you are, you can't go around smacking people without punishment.
So, it's very obviously fake.
Like it just makes no sense for it to be anything else.
I agree completely, as well.
I'll also add that there is a different sort of performance that is expected from hosting an event to performing at an event. There is some crossover, but something like an event dedicated to the performance of a comedian is very different than that comedian acting as a host - Everyone isn't there to watch their comedy routine.
Agreed. For the brief time I watched the vids, Rock's joke seemed to not quite be in the "regular banter" sort of form, maybe spontaneous or maybe something he knew was a bit edgy to begin with.
Agreed, as well.
I think "The Oscars" needs to take a look at itself. I don't have any craps to give about it - I don't watch it and don't care what they have to say about anything at all, ever. But, if they want it to be somehow valuable or relevant... Well, it's not going to get that way by itself.
The only use it has is to promote movies, distribution rights, some "golden child" careers, and grandstanding for "social commentary" that few there actually give a crap about, but all want to be $een $upporting. To be fair, too - A bunch of pop-actors are not particularly intelligent or well-versed people. Some few are or some few do try to correct that, but most of them live in celebrity fishbowls.
He's lucky the host wasn't Ricky Gervais or the next 2 hours of the show would have been a Will Smith roast.
Actually that sounds more fun than the Oscars.
Once again, it's very obvious it was staged and no one can claim otherwise.
I don't get it.
Why are people ignoring all the evidence?
Heck, the fact he wasn't escorted out was the most blatant proof it was fake!
OOOF.
I mean, I will not judge open marriages, but that seems weird.
Supposedly, while they were separated for a time, she had an affair and it was claimed or verified that it was with Will's acknowledgement/permission/whatever.
It's not a big deal... I know people may not understand that, but they were separated by mutual agreement. As in "this might be over, but we don't really know yet" kind of separation. In may States in the US, a formal Separation is very nearly like a divorce and, for instance, "infidelity" is disregarded at that point. (I don't know if they were formally Separated, but it really doesn't matter at that point.)
But, children who do not understand what that situation means or what a relationship or marriage might be will then jump in with their newly discovered word - cuckhold. Because, they're smart like that, no matter if they've read Chaucer or not...
Ah. Okay. I see. Thank you for explaining.
I totally understand during a separation for that to be done.
The human body doesn't like surprise blows to the side of the torso for certain.
That's how Houdini died.
You're aware this was obviously all staged, right?
So, the comparison doesn't work at all.
