So why did Will Smith punch Chris Rock?
Something about G.I. Jane... I don't get it.
引用自 Violent Rainbow:
He made a GI Jane Joke about Jada because she's bald. I think she has alopecia so that was kinda tasteless but still Will overreacted.

Let’s be clear about what happened too. That man thought it over while hearing the joke, decided to expend the energy it takes to get his old tall self out of a chair, walked to the stage, onto the stage, and up the stage, then decided to perform a very specific criminal assault of another man who didn’t have his guard up, instead of beating the crap out of him.

For Will to pretend it was just emotions overcoming him is a bit dishonest.

Exactly.

So how do you deal with the effects if you don't deal with the catalyst. Its easy to imply will needs to grow a thicker skin but its also just as easy to tell a person learn to fight, stop being a wimp and man up.
People say but physical expressions of this nature can cause death and disablement. Well according to so called experts and authorities are going along with it so does verbal expressions.
Have you seen the advert sticks and stones will break my bones but names can still hurt me.
A take from when i was a kid "stick and stones will break your bones but names will never hurt you". Said for the purpose of teaching kids to ignore verbal expression and concentrate purely on a real threat.

The short of it is western societies ran when they should have walked with such theory and have now caused the mess that presents itself today.

I don't understand what you are trying to tell me.

There is a stark difference between nonviolence and submission.

There is also nothing noble in physically assaulting someone, no matter the circumstances.

Just to get my stance on this will issue out the way before proceeding, i have no problem with a joke and yes there was no need considering his wife was under no physical harm like an actual slap in the face for will to commit ABH.

Getting back to our conversation, society is a mass of interconnecting construct bubbles which sees us at odds with a great many things and great many groups of bubbles.
You believe its not noble but out there is someone who believes it is meaning its not really a sound basis for clarity.
What is however is what we ourselves believe as individuals in what prompts our actions or lack of them.

There is no doubting if rock had not had told that joke, will would have never had the cause to walk up onto the stage let alone slap rock.
We all individually have to take responsibility for our own actions or lack of them no matter acceptability or consequence because ultimately we decide our moves no matter our individual thought processes shared or not.
Both rock and will took a gamble on their actions and it blew up in their faces. Learn from it, live with it, either way time moves on and once its stepped in, its stepped in.

I thought Will was doing a great job of brushing the joke off.

Safe to say it wasn't Chris who triggered his reaction.

Just sayin'.

I too thought when he was laughing that he was not triggered and why i asked earlier why no one has mentioned what about the rest of the viewing caught on the camera facing the smiths.

Even it it did transpire Jada made him, would you like to take a guess what prompted her to.

I can’t speak for them, but I don’t think the statement was meant so literally as you’ve taken it.

Likewise, you also seem to have a gross misunderstanding of the original Sticks and Stones, due to a false and all too literal interpretation. It’s purpose wasn’t to teach kids to ignore verbal expression. Quite the opposite. It has multiple uses.

One is a direct response to a bully’s words; as self-defense, while the bully is present. Another use, is as comfort when the bully is no longer around to be dealt with, because they live in a different zip code. In other words, the original: “Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me,” is in fact an acknowledgement that words can be hurtful.

In one use it’s a verbal tool a child victim of bullying can use in verbal defense against verbal bullying. In another use, it’s a coping mechanism. Both are perfectly acceptable uses.

It’s far from the only tool which has been given to western kids so that they can deal with problems on their own, and I don’t see how it has any relation to Will’s criminal act.

What part of will hurt you and will never hurt you do you not understand. Perhaps you need a minute to google that.
Its irrelevant when its mentioned, its what it implies which is perfectly clear.

Its a concussion of air and its only weaponized (i laugh when i say that) if the individual interprets it as such plain and simple.
I already explained that you’re using a fake interpretation which isn’t what kids were taught or understood. We’re talking 5 and 6 year old children understood and understand the meaning better than you.

If you need me to explain it to you further in a simpler manner, I might be willing to do that if you ask me very nicely.

But this post of yours isn’t even on topic at all lol.

Do you have any data on how many kids were taught the saying?
No

Do you have any data on which kids were taught it?
No

Do you have any data on how it affected any kids?
No

Are you going to attempt to prove that Will was taught it as a kid and that caused him to hit Chris something like 45+ years later? Or that it affected the event in another way? I expect not.

So you haven’t the slightest clue what you’re talking about. You’re just making things up.

Just as it is worded, it is simple to understand as even in basic terms, will and will never are exactly what they imply.

And as for the attempt you mention, no only you have put such a suggestion out there.

So the debacle around the transgender swimmer, the result of mixed toilets, gender treatment at an early age, diversity quotas and on and on and on all the tripe that has managed to find its way into regulation that has just turned out peachy hasn't it.

Classic example after example of things not really thought through before committing to. Just like software, just sling it out there and will try and fix it along the way.

Right im off to play a game, hope you enjoy playing what ever game you decide upon if you choose to play one. Nice talking to you.

Nope. But he'll survive. His stock as a man went up with how he handled it -- Smith's (as if it could) went down, even further.
