Compliments

Think of this as an experiment.

They say that a man remembers every compliment given to him, fom a man or woman, because its very rare. Whether it be on his appearance, clothes, whatever.

A woman, not at all, its essentially white noise. Being told how pretty you look loses all meaning after a while or just becomes annoying.

As a man, i would agree, recieving any positive feedback is rare and noteworthy. Even if its something stupid like "nice shirt"

My father looks for compliments all the time.

Did you see how i fixed X?

Did you see the size of that rat i killed?

Look how clean I got that floor.

He"ll take pictures too.


But he's old, he should be telling big fish stories.

I don't really have any reaction to complements, to be honest.

I probably would've tossed a compliment your way if I saw that. In an attempt to socialize, I've done this a few times with random people who have stuff like that, or tattoos.

Had some people today that expected a public place to have their names plastered on a table I usually sit at. They wanted me gone, but wouldn't say it to my face.

Most days no one says anything to me, unless it's part of their job. Had a few compliments on the artwork I do over the years, but words feel really hollow and empty when people's actions speak far louder. Too many people over here expect everything to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ handed to them on a silver platter, even a compliment or two when they can't even bother to send one from their own mouths.

As some others have said, females get the better deal when it comes to kindness. Happens frequently when I'm out there, and I think "Must be nice to live in your fancy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shoes".

I rarely get compliments - because i'm a homebody. How I react to a compliment depends on a few things. Mostly is if it's coming from a man or woman, and what the compliment is about.
