I've seen how reality shows are made. They are not "staged" in a way that there would be a script to follow.

Instead, they're casted so that the participants and the audience can be manipulated into predictable reactions, with zero regard to their mental, sometimes physical boundaries.

As far as i know there were several rl murderers guests in his show. One of them killed his mother and was clearly mentally disturbed. This scene is why i know him. It's not scripted reality.

No. Beating your gf isn't ok at all. His job is to help people with psychological issues, not parading them in front of millions of people.

The guy got his practicioner's license revoked for a reason--he breaks the hippocratic oath just about every time he hops on-stage, and it's sad that people would rather slouch in front of the TV to try and parse stuff like mental-health issues through the lens of an entertaiment-TV series than actually get educated. Dr Phil is part of the reason why people take healthcare-services less seriously.

This. Go to any true psychologist and he'll tell you how unethical it is.

Dr. Phil is so unethical that's why he's informing millions of households on matters of psychology, recognizing abusers and on the side he helps exonarate people who are innocent and on death row. But he must've said something mean to a MRA and now he's the boogieman.
