Literally just whispering secrets to horses, ideally nuzzled up close to their face and making eye contact. They're good listeners.

Then again I never really whisper anything to anyone unless I'm pretty sure the people listening would trip over themselves if they were to use it.

Not really, Just because they are big doesnt make them scary Horses are very tame.

Just don't spook them from behind or they can give you a nasty kick. Approach from the front before moving to their rear and pet them as you move around to ensure they don't get spooked by suddenly being touched in a place they can't see, Horses don't like that.
