Big surprise. There's even a comparison to Dark Souls. It's like you copy/pasted every review ever and changed the title.
...maybe you just hate the series, but really liked a game or two?
That really isn't a negative point of the game, it is just you being lazy and expecting everyone elses experience to be worse just so you can feel good about completing it in a very simple and far too easy way.
There's other games out there that would suit you, I don't think Metroid does; it does not sound like you enjoy it so why bother? Play something easier.
I can name so many games where 100%ing them is an absolute chore, even games I love (have fun getting all of the 1/128 items in Earthbound or collecting all of Mario Sunshine's blue coins) because most games aren't made with the expectation you'll complete every square inch, that's why there's so few completionists compared to more casual players and it's why Jirard Khalil was able to make a career out of beating the entirety of gigantic, open-world titles and discussing the ordeal online.
I thought you might have a point I'd actually agree with here for a minute but if it's like Metroid Fusion, then it's gotta be good.
Which is really at odds with the fact that the only thing they are worse at than games is journalism.
And SimCity on the SNES is clearly the Dark Souls of city-builders. You ever seen Bowser eat your city? So hardcore!
