Elon Musk is on the spectrum

A lot of people seems to use terms like "autistic" like a negative loaded word.. like there is something wrong with people on the spectrum.. They also want to box them into certain behaviours no matter the person... The truth is.. many people on the spectrum are highly succesful in our world and they are all unique..

It is great to see yet another person openly talk about being on the spectrum and lets be honest! Few would call Elon Musk unsuccessful in a business perspective.


So what do you think about Elon Musk and how much do you actually know about people on the spectrum? I am neurotypical and obviously can´t set myself in their perspective 100% but I can understand why some people are different to me.. I am different to them as well after all... We all also have some traits that you would "label" on the spectrum.. all of us!

It's not about a label it's about knowing why you didn't like certain things and were drawn to others.

No. We've spent centuries of ascribing "special" labels to people who liked the "wrong" or "weird" things for their social position. That has to end.

We need to start accepting that people can choose their calling/hobbies/"things" in life without going on to say the reason they chose those particular things is that "something's unusual about their brain".

Like having no clue about anything related to the complexities his engineers have to deal with. Some places compared Elon Musk to Tony Stark..... Even if Stark is a fictional character at least the character was involved in MOST if not all technical projects.

I'm on the spectrum too - in various places as well. But I just mention it in person so people aren't surprised when I do things differently. They still treat me differently because of that, but whatever. But with his asperger syndrome aside, Elon Musk is still a person I think people shouldn't take too seriously.

That is great to hear and I agree. When I teach there is often a rather large minority of people on the spectrum, believe it our not. People are people.. we are all unique.. the reason some people on the spectrum have a hard time, is often because of the way we have constructed our society... it is pretty much build to the avarage neurotypical... even as a neurotypical, I don´t like it much either.
