Elon Musk is on the spectrum

A lot of people seems to use terms like "autistic" like a negative loaded word.. like there is something wrong with people on the spectrum.. They also want to box them into certain behaviours no matter the person... The truth is.. many people on the spectrum are highly succesful in our world and they are all unique..

It is great to see yet another person openly talk about being on the spectrum and lets be honest! Few would call Elon Musk unsuccessful in a business perspective.


So what do you think about Elon Musk and how much do you actually know about people on the spectrum? I am neurotypical and obviously can´t set myself in their perspective 100% but I can understand why some people are different to me.. I am different to them as well after all... We all also have some traits that you would "label" on the spectrum.. all of us!

Can't say I buy it either, completely unrelated to his wealth and status, as I believe someone with the syndrome definitely could achieve that, it's purely based on my takeaway on his character

Nah, bit of a misconception. The spectrum isn't 'non-autistic' at one end and 'very autistic' at the other, it's about the breadth of autistic behaviours and experiences. We're not 'all on the spectrum'. Autistic people are.

Oh, I like your post. And yes, it's actually not "everyone's on the spectrum"; it's more like "everyone's on several intersecting spectra".

I think that's a good take.

It's a topic up for debate, not sure if people will ever agree on it while we don't have sufficient knowledge of the brain, hopefully in the coming years we can see a more defined answer to the subject
