Some Questions About the Famicom Disk System
I've read about the Famicom but I still don't understand a few things.
1. I heard that the disk system is battery backed saves, is that in the system itself and if so can you keep it plugged in with the AC adapter to retain your save data?
2. I heard that the Twin Famicom can only be functional in either cartridge or disk mode, but you can't use both slots at the same time. Is there anything that requires both slots on the original systems?

1. If I remember correctly your saves are on the proprietary disc cards for the system. They are just fancy floppy disks. The battery backup for the system is actually a power supply. 6 c batteries. It's meant to be just in case you don't have an extra outlet for the AC adapter.
2. For the original famicom you plug into the cartridge slide a ram adapter. In the twin famicom, there is a selector switch which blocks whichever slot you're not using. it's not physically possible to use both slots at the same time so no, there is nothing that used both.
So if the battery dies on the floppy disk, Will my save data be lost?

The floppy doesn’t have batteries the system does. You won’t lose your saves if your battery dies unless it’s during the write of your save

I was thinking/hoping that was the case, but I assumed the disk cards were floppy disks and was partly wondering where a battery would even fit on a floppy disk.
Also, I plan on using an AC adapter, so I think that might litegate the battery problem.
Thanks everyone!
