Maybe monkeys, but I don't think most animals would be very good at mining.

I mean, maybe you could try to teach them how to use a pickaxe and dig for gold, but you'd be better off doing it yourself, I think.

The "gold-digging ant" is a fox size animal, commonly known as the Himalayan marmot, which goes digging for gold (mostly dust particles) in the sand.

Around the Indian provinces of the Persian Empire, is a sandy desert, and the sand there contains a wealth of fine gold dust. These giant ants would often unearth the gold dust when digging their mounds and tunnels, and the people living in this province would then collect the precious dust.

If you mean that word in a colloquial sense and not a literal one, almost every animal is a "gold digger". Most animals follow their instincts, and instinct tells them to find a mate that would help them produce the healthiest and strongest offspring.

Why would a non-Human animal dig for gold? I doubt it even knows what gold is.
