Ghibli movies are same-ish. And somewhat cookie-cutterish. Family-friendy. They are essentially the Disney of anime. I adore Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, but if you have seen a couple more you will eventually get bored by them in some ways or others. At least that's how I feel. They aren't bad. But they aren't necessarily always the pure, undisputable work of genius that hardcore Ghibli fans will try to tell you.
The same goes for Shinkai movies like "Your Name". These are nice-to-watch romances with cool sci-fi ideas mixed in. But they will not usually stick with you for too long. If you aren't into romances you will probably skip them altogether. They did not stick with me for long, except maybe for the original black and white short movie "She and Her Cat" and "Voices of a Distant Star".
The really good animes are series. That's where you will find true gems. Of which the casual person won't be watching much ever in his life. And no, I'm not talking about your omnipresent One Piece, Dragonball or Naruto. These shows are for children. They are trash. Too long, too predictable, too much about stupid topics and tropes. The truly fantastic animes aren't having hundreds of episodes and will deal with deeper things than "Friendship, compansionship and/or love can conquer all."

I rather watch an anime girl watching a hollywood movie than watching the movie itself
Of course, the spirit of the beginnings is long dead, my grandpa was a huge fan of westerns with John Waynes and other actors of this era. This Hollywood don't gonna come back, even if there is a try cancel culture gonna prevent it from coming back anyway.
And I'm french, I'm tired of french bashing, treasons and lootings from americans, englishs and germans. You have absolutly no idea what we have endured in term of humiliations, degradations and destructions because of "glorious and charming 'murica" since the end of WW2. I'm done with them, I don't trust this country anymore and if one of their tools is decaying, that makes me happy. I wish no harm to 'muricans, but, they have to go back home and stay into it.
Anime is not gonna beat L.A. Studios
Sure anime isn't as clean either but you can bet your ass it's not as bad as hollywood in the past couple of decades.
it's also no surprise you keep seeing ♥♥♥♥ with the "made in Georgia" peach or apple logo. I think they're trying to get tech companies to go to Texas too. Hollywood has become very Toxic or showing its true colors more. Well the whole state as a whole has become very corrupt and wonky.
In a way anime is sorta a gateway to shut off your mind even for a couple of mins and just take a break from the real world.
What made hollywood so good has become henpecking of virtue signaling and selling ♥♥♥♥ for as low a cost as possible. No one wants more of that ♥♥♥♥ spoonfed to them in their escape releases.
What is even funnier is they tried to make "live adaptations" of animes and such but it's just recycled hollywood garbage with the monumental huge flop of the last airbender rated as the worst adaptation or at least the go to for worst adaptation.
but as the first comment said anythings better than hollywood RN not just anime. Hell i'll even take mexican or Indian movies bollywood and what not.
i wanna say early TV era before color like black and white and relying on acting and word of mouth or radio was the golden age.
