youtube advertising is creeping trough my addblock.

when i open from sleep mode i get ads. and i just clicked a link and got one too.

once i refresh it's gone. how does that work code wise?

What device? Which browser? Which Ad blocker?

My guess is that it's a problem with chrome itself stopping and not properly restarting the extension.

vivaldi. i got several. vivaldi's build in blocker. "adblock, best adblock" and "adblock plus"

What scares me more is the fact that I sometimes have conversations about something with a friend and then all of a sudden ads about topics I spoke with them about the next day would appear.

Switch to FireFox, or Brave. As for ad blockers uBlock Origin, and Ghostery have never failed.

thanks, will look up ublock, used it in the past i think.

not a big fan of firefox. i study design and it hurts my eyes. i had something against brave but i forgot.

but i'm pretty happy with vivaldi except for this. i am worried YT is trying to get rid of blockers. fighting back.

I use ABP with Mozilla Firefox (64bit) and I've never had this happen. I also never use sleep mode, so I don't know if that has anything to do with your issue or not.

All you need is the following with Vivaldi:

DuckDuckgo as the search engine

DuckDuckgo privacy essentials

uBlock Origin

Video Adblocker for YouTube (YAB)

And if you want to remove recommendations from YouTube: Unhook.

Most adblockers get paid to let through some ads when they gain some recognition, the only reliable one so far has been uBlock origin, don't trust any other adblocker (especially built-in ones)
