Games were actually decent at that time but it's the worst made handheld where, the first one I had to return since the buttons got stuck after a week. The second (I got because I had games) also got stuck so I had it taken to a repairer to fix then the power went down so I had to rewire it myself.
this.
I picked up an old disney little mermaid one for £2 and I felt ripped off.
I remember playing that Sonic game going through the jungle level and I smelled battery acid...
In hindsight I guess the batteries were going bad in that one at the time. But SIX. WHOLE. BATTERIES!!!
They bring an era to you and present it in that unique and special way that we basically have to love them even if they're kind of awful sometimes, especially games (looking at you Commodore, geez).
I have a console friend who, definitely agrees with me on this one and this friend didn't even mention that cliche of "they're too expensive" I mean for about 500 euros you could get a working PC that could scale with a console easy especially if you would only upgrade it once or twice along the line.
