No Steam overlay for Battlefield 1?
I tried to add Origin as a non-steam game and when i try to start Battlefield 1 it crashes after a few seconds with no error or warning but if i close Steam it works, is it because of the new ♥♥♥♥♥♥ UI for Origin?

Why do you ever need Steam overlay in Battlefield?

Sometimes people like to access things on steam while playing games even if the game has nothing to do with steam, especially with the web api where you can google stuff from the steam overlay, that can be helpful even if the game isn't a steam game
Mainly for browser, talk to friends without alt+tab and screenshots, yes.

Add the Origin client as a shortcut, then run Battlefield 1 from that. Worked for me.

Whoops. I just woke up, so I'm still not reading things fully. Though I can safely say it's not the new UI that is causing this, since I used Medal of Honor:Pacific Assault and it still worked.

No problem, so if i select Origin as a non steam game and start battlefield 1 via origin it runs for a few seconds on task manager then poof... Its gone, it used to work on open beta and i think its because of the new Origin UI and there is another problem, some peoplesay i must deactivate origin in game but its already off but the origin overlay is still there.

The issue I'm having is that running Origin thru steam grants Steam Overlay/Screenshots in Origin but nothing in Battlefield.

Edit: Here's a pretty useful tutorial, though I am still having the issue of Steam Overlay sticking to Origin and not BF1.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield/comments/58s391/bf1_how_i_applied_steam_overlay_to_bf1/

Edit 2: Got it to work. While I am running Windows 7 I still had to set Steam to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 (heh..) Following the guide I linked in combination with Compatibility mode and now Overlay runs properly in Battlefield 1. Hope this is helpful.
