My youtube video got copyright claimed, any tips?
I tried to use 'Highway to Hell' by AC/DC for about a minute at the beginning of a youtube video (with credit if that matters), and it was copyright claimed instantly. I thought I could use whatever song I want as long as I don't earn money. The video is blocked completely in all countries.

I know that Sony Media Entertainment owns the rights to this song and I was going to ask permission, but can't find any contact information. I have considered uploading any claimed videos to a porn site in an attempt to possibly escape copyright restrictions, but disallow earning money from these videos as I am afraid I will be sued.

What should I do, any advice?

Repeal oppressive copyright laws.

for about a minute
You'd be lucky if you could use it for more than 3 seconds, let alone a minute.

Frankly, I disagree with current copyright law. It's currently too unwieldy and unsuitable for the current entertainment landscape of independent creators. I've seen some great content from youtubers that use copyrighted music in creative ways, but they're branded as "illegal" because copyright law hasn't been updated to more properly reflect today's world.

Not that it'll matter for long. Decentralization tech like IPFS and blockchains will render all copyright laws and censorship obsolete - no matter how bad any government or corporation hates it.

If ya want to keep it, keep it. Just... it will be only you to see and that's it, until you do something with it or delete it ofc.

AFAIK, not only music can worldwide-block a video; portions of scenes from cartoons (animes) can. I had this occurrence long ago, when PSY's Gentleman was so popular back then, and I made a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ parody, and guess what? I put a somewhat 15 to 20 seconds scene of one of the episodes of Naruto: Shippuden and it's worldwide-blocked by YouTube.

If you're smart, you can figure out how to bypass that copyright system. Some channels I found that showcases episodes of Naruto/Boruto uses "scene to scene jump", like... there's an interval of 4 to 6 seconds where the scene gets cut and jump to another scene. If it's a music, pitching up/down or playing in reverse method works. Like, there are tons of ways to do so and those claimers won't even notice.

Editing means something that needs to be done, and avoiding the claimers ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on you.

yeah like you could bastardize a song and call it nightcore and its so bad even the system can't recognise it.

I advise you to check the music on eProves.com every time before using it. It works 95% of the time for me, with no problems.
Also they have the biggest database of no copyright music for vlogging https://eproves.com/no-copyright-music/

My previous answer was blurred by links. So the website is https://eproves com/no-copyright-music/

Lol is it a way to leave a link here?

You can dispute it. I did a “fair use” claim on a video that had a song in it and they were like “fair enough”.
Moogal™ 26/set./2023 às 3:34
Nothing will happen. You need not worry. Just make another account and reupload without music.

Claiming sounds as personal property is proof humans need to be erased. Change my mind
If only I had takes this good nowadays. They're copyrighting colors now, and I haven't even complained yet. No edge anymore. This is what anime will do to you.
