All multiplayer games should include bots for single play.
I agree with the bots for single players , sometime it's just fun to mess around with bots and not playing seriously.
and well , I do think most games should include an easy mode. (including Dark souls which peoples seem to praise only for being a ''hard'' game rather then the gameplay itself)
Because there are a ♥♥♥♥ ton of open-hollow-world games doesn't mean everybody is satisfied with singleplayer games.
I want to play those multiplayer games But I don't need all the bells and whistles that surround online play. I want the choice. And I respect devs who give that choice to you.
I want to play CSGO without the toxicity, and without having to worry about penalties or screwing a match for other 9 people if I have to pull out because real life knocks at the door.
Just to give an example of why I value MP games having bots so much. I used to run a weekly LAN party with friends thanks to Battlefield 2 having bots. They were all casual people, who would have ditched the game had they been exposed to regular online play.
But the ability to fill a local BF2 server with cannonfodder (we werent' even enough people to fill a server) created a controlled enviroment in which we spent hundreds of hours of plain dumb fun.
We didn't need other gamers but we needed more players in game. Bots allowed that. And for a long time that's not been a possibility for so many games.
Of course I understand the industry reasons to stop adding bots to their games, but I don't put my money on games who don't show that deference to gamers.
I still have Valve in high steem because they still are one of those few who DO walk that extra mile to give you bots in their MP games. TF2m, CSGO, DOTA2, L4D2... Hell Even Artifact and Underlords had bot matches.
Also multiplayer games having bots serve to extend a game life. No one to play Quake 3 Arena? No prob. I'll jump in with some bots. I still can play UT by myself.
And despite what some people say, bots can give an even harder challenge than human players. Especially when the AI lets them run backwards and shoot.
There were a lot of great rpgs on the snes and genesis, but the best one by far is Phantasy Star 4 End of the Millennium. Followed by FFvi, then Phantasy Star 3.
The second best mario game on NES is Wrecking Crew. Fight me!
The psx was inferior to the 3dO graphics.
Nintendo needs to make a new Virtual Boy. As a self contained unit. I would kill for a vr metroid or kid icarus. Hell, give me a vr machrider. Post apocalypse motorcycle cycle combat.
