Who currently owns the rights to Nightmare Creatures, and why are they sitting on it instead of doing anything to it?

Anyone remember that game? It was released on the Nintendo 64, PS1, and PC and had you play as a swordsman or swordswoman fighting monsters and using different equipment items found around the map. A friend of mine recently introduced me to it on his 64, and I've been trying to find a copy, but apparently nobody's thought to rerelease this masterpiece on Good Old Games.

But what really irks me is that I could see a modern remake or reimagining really working today, possibly even better than it did then, with the current gaming trends of gothic horror and monster fighting. If they could do to the game what Resident Evil 2 Remake did to Resident Evil 2, it would be pretty badass, and nobody holding the license has thought of this? Hell, I could see it working as a Souls-Like game if they saw it necessary, despite the classic gameplay not being that, as said brutal gameplay fits gothic horror.

I still have the ps1 version, case and all. I remember it really impressed me back then. But I don’t share your enthusiasm for another one. I don’t recall anything special about the characters, story, or anything that is a must have in a new game like it.

Not against it, though I’d be just as happy, if not more, to see a totally new game made that was simply inspired by games like it.

omg yes, kingsfield I loved that game. I rented it soo soo many times. It was pretty hard. The second one felt so easy in comparison imo.

I even got to play the original kingsfield that never released in the states.

The moonlight sword, the capricorn, dragonfruit, the black dragon, etc.
