For the same reason the burger in the television ad looks way better than the burger when you buy it. Marketing.

Edit: now I want a burger.

but why would they do that? yes i know burgers have tools to make it look better, but why the hell would i waste 60$ on a game expecting awesome graphics and getting like ultra hd ps3 graphics

Because it's really easy to pre-render stuff.

Me too, you monster!

Also, same reason why you have candy by the cashiers, I don't know why, I just know I want candy!!!

But anyways, I like honest trailers. Like this one where even the trailer has lag. :P

The trailers looks better than the actual games / movies, because only the BEST parts are shown there in a short time.

They're not... I very rarely even watch those.

Because that's how the Game Indestry works. Make epic gamer trailer, reality.... Cyberpunk 2 part 2

IDEK what you guys are talking about, I've never seen a game trailer which is better than the game. A trailer just shows a few disconnected scenes...

first look at a trailer of a game then see the difference between the trailer and actual game, there is a difference

Yeah, I know. You can't play the trailer and even if you could, it wouldn't have any gameplay...
Battlefield 1. Great trailer boring game.

the purpose of a trailer is to sell you on the game what kind of a question is this
SMIFFY Feb 23, 2021 @ 6:23am
Because marketing is where publishers spend most the budget.
