In fact the western half ended in 476 AD and the eastern empire later to be known at the byzantine empire fell in 1453.
I would say look towards the united states, it's seems to have more in common with the roman empire than any other empire in history.
Yes
I would say its mostly the titles and transfer of titles with some basis on true blood dynasty. Each era was treacherous in fighting for thrones, but Rome was quite interesting.
TLDR its always a coin flip to see if it was the Praetorian guard who jumbles it up in most of Rome's history.
More like the Roman Republic.
Like much of the Enlightenment, the Constitutional Conventions were heavily influenced by Marcus Cicero's writings.

Good question how much of "Roman DNA" is left in present-day Italians.
But we have to know that ancient Rome was quite ethnically diverse.
They had all prequisites for the steam engine but they didn´t put it together because of slavery. They died the same cheap manpower vs tech advancement death the chinese died.
And it was allways those who provided the pointy things who deceided who´s gona be figurehead next (until those selling em took over).
That will never happen.

PFT! Their ideas live and define culture today. They were the first to introduce litigation and the rule of law over the savagery of blood feuds. They were the first to come up with associations, clubs or societies. They came up with an idea of code of laws beyond random mysticism. They defined treaties as a means of social interaction. The first meta idea beyond magic or savagery.
Also they had toilets.
But what have the Romans ever done for us?
