Worst book you had to read in school?
For me, it was probably White Fang in 6th grade

So it was The Plague from Albert Camus that of which won a Nobel Prize in Litterature and i didn't like it because it's boring and i had to write an essay on it.
I loved White Fang and Call of the Wild personally. There were books I didn’t like too but I don’t remember the names.

Ufh, there were plenty. Usually it's was the type with tons of self-pity.
Washington Square, had to read it and then write a review for English writing course. I'm a math and science guy so this was an ordeal for me.

White Fang was alright in my opinion but teachers always make you do so much work on it. They won't let you read for fun...
Bridge to Terabithia hands down was awful. The writing was ham fisted and the plot and characters were beyond one dimensional.

Isn't it someone just crossing a bridge? Kinda anticlimactic.
Lots, even when I still liked to read.

Because, if you MAKE me do something, chances are I won't enjoy any of it at all.
Probably something by Dickens.

I was actually discussing this w/ my daughter the other day, but the focus was on the books & authors we'd most enjoyed. London, Steinbeck, Buck, & Knowles were among my favorites.

I’m glad someone else recalls this travesty with grim displeasure. It outright put me to sleep on a few occasions.

As for me, Tangerine was pretty awful. It’s about a noodle-armed kid who joins a soccer league... and garners friends by opening a tangerine farm...
