Does listening to something help you sleep?
I was having trouble sleeping, mainly nightmares. I tried asmr for the third time now. I saw some people say it helps them sleep well. For me, it just made me feel weird and I had to stop it before I could sleep.

Does asmr help you? Do you listen to something else?

Yes. Something like this. It's like a song but don't use any music instrument. Just our voice with some pitching and rule to recite it.

I don't know what ASMR you were listening to for you to feel weird XD

But I sometimes listen to rain, the ocean, or Café ambience.

Other times I listen to podcasts, or random vids.

Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. It depends on how tired I am.

I just lie down and I'm usually asleep within a matter of moments. And if I'm not then chances are I've probably slept recently. As for something to actually help your problem, I recommend chamomile or alternatively not eating anything within 4 hours of sleeping.

Any other kind of noise I can't sleep with, but the noise of a fan is something I can't sleep without. I also can't sleep without earplugs in so it's a strange combination to need for sleeping, but it works for me which is probably all that matters. Between my fan, earplugs and weighted blanket, I find I can usually sleep fine where I used to alternate between not being able to sleep at all and having nightmares.

Sometimes when I'm not too tired I have to listen to podcasts with headphones for a while lying on the bed with my eyes closed until I get sleepy, and then I take them off and just sleep. History podcasts work best for this, stories are fine too.
I hate ASMR and the ambient sounds are just annoying to me.
Absolutely. The sound of rainy and stormy nights puts me right to sleep, I find them relaxing. We don't often get weather like that here, maybe once a month or so if we're lucky.

I can't bear to hear stuff to sleep, i prefer silence.
I leave my clock radio on at a very low volume.

I just can't sleep in total silence. To the point where if the radio shuts off in the middle of the night, I'm awake.
yes ! My girlfriend and I listen to heavy rain/thunder sounds every night to sleep! Significantly improved my sleep .
I listen to stuff but neither music nor asmr. I just put on random long videos from my favourite youtubers or some kind of ambient noise or audio book.
