Tell me a word in English that has Greek roots and I will explain it to you.
For example scientific terms, phobias, chemical elements and have Greek roots. There are other words that do have Greek words such as: climate, hero, hygiene, drama, synonym, idea and many more I can't name all.

Well it's not actually 100% Greek because some words also come from Latin in English but yeah. It has a correlation with the word "Giga" kinda like we say Gigabytes and all that. Giga practically means very huge.

Narcissist
While the English word is from French the origins is from Ancient Greek. The word comes from a guy named Narcissus. The mythology says that he looked himself in the water and he believed he was more beautiful than anyone else and he drowned. You can learn more here.

You are correct :). Although the word δεινός is no longer used in Modern Greek because it's an Ancient Greek word.

Europe
Europe is actually a feminine name used back in Ancient days, known as Europa. The term itself doe practically means means "wide sight" or "wide eyes".
Europe in Greek is "Ευρώπη"
Ευρώπη = Ευρής + ώψη
In Greek mythology Europe was from what I remember a girl that Zeus wanted to bang. So he turned himself into a taurus and he let her ride him.

Hypnosis
The first part of the word Hypnosis which is "hypno" practically means "sleep" in Greek. Now the other part "osis" doesn't really mean anything, it is just a suffix.
