I'm definitely not romanticizing it. I never liked it in the first place, so there's no nostalgia. I'm rather happy I managed to move away.
Not sure if this counts but I did live in a small english village that was in the country side back in the late 1990's too early 2000's. All I can say is that my life was peaceful and the people who lived there were very well education and seemed stress free and chilled (from what I could gather).
But I did come from a council estate were poverty was rife, so it was a totally different lifestyle. Sadly, the cost of living there was way too much for my earning and had to move out.
But one thing I did notice tho, is that the young wanted to get out and move to the big towns/cities while the early middle to late aged and older people loved it.
Now houses prices there are touching from 300k uptoo 1 million pounds and only the rich and well off can afford to live in old english villages now
That's ironic coming from someone who enslaved people. People overuse the word "slavery." Like the idiots who screech about how wearing a facemask equals "slavery" and the "holocaust."
If you don't like routine then change it. If you don't like your job then get a different job. Don't expect everything to be simply given to you.
If you want to live in ye olden times, then go find some wilderness and go live in it. If you're tired of hum drum office work then find a feudal lord to go be a serf for. Or more realistically, if you want to live dangerously then join the military and pursue special forces training. The recruiter's offices in your town is likely open right now. Go right on ahead.
Noo, I came from living on a council estate from a big town to living in the country.
It's less hustle and bustle due to population density or lack of it. So I get why people call it slower and chill. A few people walking about versus a flow of a steady stream of hundreds of people in city. We still had access to weed a ex girlfriend dad used to grow it back in the day.
Glad to know it's national salt day where you are. Happy salt day yay.
Now you are getting into the salty spirit. Good for you yay.
me too...
What I was saying, I grew up living on a council estate in a big town. In my early 20's I moved to the country side to live with my then partner.
Now I live in greater manchester area were the people here are barking mad
