This just came into my mind when thinking about tf2 and valve in general with their lag of 3's

Is the source 3 engine ever gonna happen?
Or are they just gonna update source 2 indefenitely? Or will they just call the next big version of source "source ultimate" and the source after that is gonna be source 4?

This blew my mind when this came to mind

Whoa! Slow down, you are counting too fast to keep up. I'd say going for Source 3 would not be a priority for Valve at the moment. Valve is going through their tech tree and it's taking time.

I mean we need source 4 for half life 4 and half life 4 episode 1, 2 and 4.
And Team Fortress Alyx can't forget about that.

Valve will probably just do one third of a Windows 10 and go directly to version 4, skipping version 3.
