Have you ever taken a hammer your computer?

I needed to straighten out the front supporting struts after crushing them to fit some more parts inside. The second time I used a mallet instead and removed the internals so I didn't need to worry about hitting it so hard. Mallets leave a smoother finish than hammers btw. Larger impact surface area. Anyway. Anyone else hammered their PC too? Just curious.

Well, personally I like modifying things. Hammers can bend metal, at least that's what I've used them for regarding PCs.

Well first I dremelled out cable holes. Crushed the front support beams with pliers. Cut off the lower 5 an a half inch bay runner mount things. Cut the fan mounts off the lower HDD bay converter for reuse. Smoothed the cuts with some grinding. Filed. Added the extra components to see if they now fit. They did, but the front was now bowed slightly from the crushing. So the facia couldn't go back on. THEN I hammered. I must say. It felt a little surreal. Hence teh post xD

Originally the back of a pair of water pump pliers. Then like... a standard nail hammer? Metal head, wooden handle. Then a mallet thingy. Metal head in rubber casing w wooden handle. Then the latter 2 alternating to get the front straight ish.

I honestly don't know man, I don't use a hammer but be careful on how much force you apply with each blow or simply ask a professional if they use a hammer and what they recommend.

I modify my rig a fair bit, but it felt surreal hammering out the front xD (She boots fine now btw, upgrades in place, so DW) was just curious if anyone else has also hammered in the past xD It's kinda funny to say u fixed a computer with a hammer xD

I once watched a Russian on YouTube (video of people raging) grabbed a hammer and destroyed the insides of a PC of his son just to "scold" his son or smth. The end isn't good.

Used to love videos of people raging until I see no laughing value of it. It's just sad, though, to see people breaking their ♥♥♥♥ only to make them poor intentionally.

So you are saying that if your hard drive /ssd went you would throw your whole pc away and buy a new one?

Well if you must know, yes. I just threw out a ps5 that works because it has a brown spot on it so it's ruined. Maybe that why so many people look through my garbage before collection day 🤔
