Honestly, there's a part of me that feels like, if you're stealing food, you're in such a bad spot that I kind of can't even be mad about it.

I would think that before you have to resort to stealing food:

• You're definitely out of money
  
• You're probably out of/ineligible for credit

I had a friend in college in the dorms, he'd always come over and help himself to anything in my fringe. I'd tell him not to and he always would. Finally i had a grand-mother from Germany bake a cake for my birthday and send it to me. I didn't have a chance to eat it yet, but when I got back from classes he had eaten the entire thing.

I was pissed. So I took an entire box of Ex-Lax chocolates, put them on a plate inside my refrigerator and let for the weekend. My friend instead of having a nice relaxing weekend, spent it on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. He was pretty upset and even had talked about turning me in...but I just opened the ex-lax and left it in the fringe. Nothing bad about that.

It's worth it to me to assume the best in people.

Yes, I'd be angry. It happened a few times in high school by some punk kid who went around to different bags and stole a few lunches amongst other things. I kinda regret not making a bait meal out of bread and "doodoo" for him.
