What!?
Okay. Okay. I'd have to agree with the many saying that it's probably Red Alert 2. With Generals very closely behind.
I also do like Renegade, but it's an entirely different type of game.
Renegade is still command and conquer though just 1st person
I liken it to saying that Fallout Shelter or Fallout Brotherhood of Steel are your favourite Fallout games. Sure, you can do it, you're not wrong, they're just a different thing from what the franchise is primarily known for.
basically from what I hmm, think is right was a rather, at least subjectively improvement on 1.
Made the game different, and it's a bit interesting to think about how games before worked from being basically very raw and sort of 'primitive' (rudimentary) to like taking form and shape.
I think I could mention how today games a lot of them either have a sort of 'pre-built' or (pre) designed 'formula' in which sense on a technical level at least...
They are all sort of same-ish in a non-direct kind of way.... Like technically well done but kind of similar if not sometimes the same maybe feeling or 'feel' wise and furthermore I think that there are either a lot of iterations of or on old games..
Something like Battlefield-2042 series with which by that designation in the number it might as well be depicting its iteration in numbers.
And ''reboots''
But to answer your question,
Red Alert 2 because perceivably it was the best.
Since because it was such an unique game and before they changed into using other, namely 3D engines. So the 'formula' changed it was like. Very well valued, remembered and thus also personally appreciated.
I'd say maybe in a way to 'urge' you (because they are good) to just try them out maybe if you can.
I wasn't into RTS games neither but at a point started playing them and found out that they're pretty good, and I think.
If I don't bore you :P
I think that they are very good and classic games. They happen to be original and it's just maybe an acquired taste, to play old games and games with old graphics but we did before and we liked them.
Being my generation and so, and other generations.
Euhm.
Just because I was a bit sad to hear you never heard or sorry; never played them.
Maybe if you can, give them a try.
Before the Tiberium universe got weird.
