Is a game bad if it requires a wiki to play?
What do you think.

Not in my opinion, no.

If it requires a wiki just to install it and get it to run, yes.
If it requires a wiki just to understand basic game functions... probably but not necessarily. A lot of Early Access games don't have proper tutorials yet and explanations can be flaky. If it's a full release, then that is a bad thing.
If it requires a wiki to understand more advanced information to formulate strategies and playstyles, then no.

Yes. If it "requires" it, that's bad design.

But you can play MC without ever touching the wiki.

With no wiki/watching letsplays and until recently, you would probably never figure out how to make netherportals. Or make the wither boss.

Yeah... NOW you can.

Before you start in a world left to your own devices figuring out how to craft a portal to the Nether. Or how to craft a boat.

I think it depends on the player to a certain extent.

You might not need to rely on a game related wiki, but I'm not too proud to admit that I'm not as good at figuring things out as others are, so I might feel like I need to.

Yeah, i prefer games that you can progress in without using a Wiki. Some puzzles in some games are near or totally impossibe to figure out.

Hmm...

Terraria is pretty unplayable without the wiki, so I'd say so. Bad and flawful game design. Tries to adapt self learning. There's too many things you have to know to make progress now.

Then a lot of tabletop games are bad, because hardly anyone understands them without a manual.

before they introduced crafting recipes in the game I have literally zero idea how people could have played the game without a wiki, so many items that you wouldn't even know existed because you wouldn't think of crafting them
