Yeah. Dislikes makes other people upset and brings em down. People really abuse the dislikes in reddit even for something minuscule. You might say something that people won't understand and think you are saying something bad and bombard you with dislikes.

Dislikes on steam have actually a hidden effect compared to the youtube one.

That was a huge problem in the csgo workshop, people created bots to dislike their competition to get their own maps/items suggested more often.

Because too many leftist sjw and uber money making corporate whales YouTube makers can't take the backlash to dumb hottakes and unwanted video posts...

So YouTube coddled them by disabling dislikes to make them feel like people actually like them.

Your_White_Knight -Understandable misread of the original post (It's how I read it from the start, wondering if people have been seeing that yet), but the post was about the likes of the Comments' about the video, not the video itself. I did hear about what you're referring to earlier this year being something that the site is testing on phasing in the option for only showing upvotes on the video, not the downvotes, which would indeed probably more be for the crowd that you are referencing whom already know that their signalling is toxic and poorly-received. But I haven't heard seen any of that (just upvotes) myself yet.
