Unpopular opinion about cancel culture

This is something that's been on my mind ever since we've seen the results of things like the #metoo movement.

Cancel Culture, for the few good things it has done as far as exposing unrepentant manipulative monsters, has also done alot of harm in going way too far with allegations that are either trivial or sometimes not even true. Also personally, I'm just as tired of people acting like they're smug and better than other people when they see that someone was outed for doing something horrible or disgusting. It makes me think that it's not about being a seeker of moral justice, but just feeling better about yourself and patting yourself on the back after seeing someone's comeuppance. I also feel like, regardless of whether the person truly deserves it or not: Cancel Culture can be mentally taxing and cause more harm than anything the alleged person has done to a victim. Mainly because they have to be reminded of it everyday when just trying to browse the internet or go on the street. It's especially unfair for the few people out there who are genuinely apologetic and want to become better people.

I don't know if I'm alone in feeling this way, but I'm personally just sick of it from all angles. I don't defend the people who have done truly horrible and manipulative things, but at the same time I think the internet and human beings are incredibly unforgiving and negative. There's way too many examples of how even the smallest thing has ruined someone's life as far as the cancel culture lynch mob, but as far as like...the people who were proven innocent or is not a big deal: I'd probably turn to the case of Justine Sacco and Projared most of all if you wanna look into them. I personally try to be positive and think that when someone is held accountable, you want to rehabilitate them for their crimes, such as people like Bill Cosby or Harvey Weinstein. Even then though, I always feel like constantly putting them down doesn't make us any better people. But i get it, some people are beyond hope. Again I'm just sick of negativity from both sides.

Cancel culture has become nothing more than a witch hunt. You can hold people accountable without being a smug jerk trying to gain clout. Instead try to be better and show that you're someone who wants true morals and justice.

Sorry if this was a long rant, I needed to get that off my chest. I hope people actually read this. I know most people will say "TL;DR". But this is important.

Here is a small little hint: turn off the Internet and go outside. You'll eventually realize people don't hurt you. I assume you're white, so even less. I hate pulling out the race card, unfortunately I can't count the amount of "get back to Mexico" and "alien" comments I've received. Yes, in the so-called "woke" California. Btw., people have been doing this when I was barely an adult. Working. In college. And middle-aged men and women tell me that stuff. JUST MAYBE you'll realize why I don't like alt-right people and the right-wing in general. The left on the other hand, I just don't deal with these people but luckily enough, they just ignore me? Wew.

Now I'm in NZ and guess what - people are like a different breed, so much happier and open-minded.

But on the other hand, I'm not into men, but I'm not exactly looking like your average LBGT lesbian and they don't exactly love feminine looking lesbians, so I had to deal with them too. Solution: not being a part of LBGT. Just focus on myself, my career and my girlfriend. And a bunch of friends I made in NZ. Life is great!

If you don't like being cancelled by those around you unjustifably, you shouldn't support it being done to those you disagree with.

I was never cancelled, I just didn't fit into their agenda. But they'll find another horse to beat, this is nothing new. Applies to most "groups and communities". I never supported LGBT in the first place, nor was I a big part of it, but you know it makes sense when your sexuality is part of that letter that you see fit and talk to people with the same sexuality..

This is just me growing rather tired about these kind of topics and the politics around it. It feels like beating a dead horse and it doesn't seem to stop.

And tada! Nice work, you've solved the mystery! The people behind most of this nonsense don't care about those that have died, been abused, been grossly mistreated, that's worth nothing to them, they're shallow puppets that just want to see someone be kicked to the ground by even their own fans and supporters. That's not to say I don't support what they do, or feel bad seeing it happen to them, though it's hard not to see

i'll admit i'm tool azy to look it up. so since i'm bein' redirected to the forum of that one animal, he's not a regular of this forum or what?

He used to freak out in the Steam news section about unrelated subjects, such as politics.

Someone saw him doing that and decided to dig a little further and then make a thread about it on the site I mentioned before.

Then he started freaking out in the Steam Labs group, until he got banned from there.

And now he's freaking out on OT, despite being banned from here.

he has 114 posts, is he on an alt or does he really just post that little and with 'nough bravery to enrage the jannies? since someone made a thread 'bout him on another forum made me wonder... has anyone perhaps ever made a thread 'bout me on some other internet forum? goin' that far, even just 'cause of curiosity or boredom, well... it's quite the activity to spend yer time on

just saw the edit, seems like there's more to this situation than just a random person's own boredom

It's not that he just talks about politics. A lot of people here talk about politics.

What sets him apart from the others is his massive walls of unintelligible text, his "predictions" (such as civil war by july, global civil war by november) and his constant need to try and tie a site making fun of him to the chinese government.

Tell that to the thousands of people who participate in it that are extremely vocal on the next new celebrity youtuber scandal. People who are ready to unsubscribe or spew toxic words before knowing details. We're only SLIGHTLY getting better with that kind of thing but yeah.

He's grossly misrepresenting me, which you'll see is one of my most consistent and longheld complaints about Kiwi Farms' conduct, and why I cosistently conflate them with cancel culture. For example: His claims that I "was posting irrelevant nonsense everywhere." is devoid of the context.

I was initially posting counternarratives to the pro-democratic and BLM propaganda Valve was hosting from European gaming journalism outlets during the 2020 election. Once I started getting repeatedly banned for "spam" by doing so, however, I started throwing fuel on the flames by extending my reach to other articles as contrast to how stupid black lives matter propaganda based on American politics being pushed by european outlets on a videogame storefront was.

Kiwi Farmers have intentionally, and continue to intentionally, omit all context to try and frame me in a bad light, all because I embrassed the OP in the very same news section on the regular.

See for yourself: here's an archive of the old steam news section where one of the two outlets was praising a "racial equity" games bundle.

He also insists that the "marxist steam mods" are "constantly censoring him" even though he's been ban evading for at least 5 months now.
