Based is a slang term that originally meant to be addicted to crack cocaine (or acting like you were), but was reclaimed by rapper Lil B for being yourself and not caring what others think of you—to carry yourself with swagger. Ironically he did drugs and lean himself and made it up as an excuse to push on the younger generation.

His alter ego "The BasedGod" is a drug addict and dealer promoting it to the youth.

it usually is ment as a compliment.

it means basicly 'well grounded"

it's the opposite of woke or what we call in dutch a "zweefteef" -> in english that would be like
somebody who has their heads in the clouds...
**or in slang the opposite of delulu

it means you see and call things as they are with zero care for public opinion or pressure.
the emperor is naked and you will call his naked ass out.. even though everybody else has gone insane and hates you for it.

The based-cringe dichotomy is the same as the hip-square dichotomy or the cool-lame one. Sounds all technical, but it basically is the kids these days re-inventing the same old concepts everyone was using and re-branding every generation. So while it sounds hip, it actually is pretty lame. A bit cringe even.

But if there are multiple universes and multiple timelines and all that fun stuff somewhere in some timeline, whatever they are spouting is infact BASED.

So from a time stand point everything will be and will not be BASED at some point.

Those are the laws of BASED

I thought it means "your theory is based on solid arguments, so it can be used as a base for further theories" or "your theory is based on likely solid arguments, so it probably can be used as a base for further theories".

The opposite of that is "building castles on sand".
